While it's not exactly off the beaten track for US visitors, York is a "must-see" for any visitor to the area. However, following that we take you to two very different sides of the same county. From the rugged coast and cozy fishing villages of the east to the rolling dales made famous by James Herriott's books, explore the amazing beauty of Britain's largest county with us.
After our sojourn in York, we'll spend the next few days based in the market town of Skipton, an ideal location to check out the best bits of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The last part of the holiday will be spent in the coastal town of Whitby, an area rife with tales of smugglers, vampires and ... fishing. Very different from the Dales, this part of Yorkshire has a beauty all it's own.
As with all our tours, we build in plenty of opportunity to explore at your own pace, in your own time.
Those on the 10-day option will be shuttled back to Manchester airport from Whitby, while the 14-day option will have a few more days to enjoy the delights of eastern Yorkshire.
