North Wales' history lies all around us here, from the Roman and medieval city of Chester to the castles erected by Edward I following his suppression of the Welsh rebels -- or freedom fighters, depending on your point of view! Add to that the unequalled grandeur of the Snowdonia National Park and you have a combination that cannot be beaten. A great tour to take children on. Lots of castles to run around, and the seaside too.
Pick-up is from Manchester Airport, and we'll spend a day and a night in Chester before moving on to our first base in Llandudno, a seaside town just to the north of the Snowdonia National Park, and right in the middle of a ting of fine castles, several of which we will plan to visit. The second base is in Ludlow on the Welsh-English border, an area steeped in history, and right next door to the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, and our western society.
Those on the 10-day tour will shuttle back to Manchester from Ludlow, while those on the 14-day option will spend a few more days in the area, enjoying it's wide variety of offerings.
